Product Details
The Migdalor Reader 5A is a part of the MIGDALOR PROGRAM (starting from Kindergarten) and is a direct continuation of The Migdalor Reader 4B in vocabulary and grammar. It is gradual, methodical, colorful and vivid like previous books in the series. The primary purpose of the Migdalor Reader, parts 5A and 5B is getting our students acquainted with and promoting love for ISRAEL while continuing to teach Hebrew vocabulary and grammar in a systematic and gradual manner. These books tell about a group of ten young students visiting various places in Israel while learning about the geography, history, culture and social life in Israel. Migdalor Reader Part 5A deals with Jerusalem and Southern Israel and Part 5B deals with Northern and Central Israel. These books contain stories, poems, and a variety of activities with the basic aim to continue to focus on improving reading, writing and oral language skills. It is based on previously acquired skills in these areas, with gradually increasing requirements. Methods used are concrete (audio-visual), enjoyable and methodical. A variety of photographs, audio CDs and DVD clips are used to achieve these goals. The CD contains songs and readings from the books and the DVD shows pictures on a range of topics taught. Many schools using the MIGDALOR PROGRAM report significant improvement in Hebrew development and knowledge of their students and in their enjoyment from learning Hebrew with this program, as it is teacher- and student-friendly. Please note: while this book is labeled as Part 5A, it does not have to be taught in fifth grade necessarily. It is up to the teachers to determine which grade it will be most suitable for, depending on their students' level of Hebrew language proficiency. In addition, these books have achievement tests with guidelines for administration and scoring.
